Flight Tracker app good for
I bought this app in a rush while driving to the airport while out of town over a year ago (back when the app cost $2.99). Over 20 flights later, this app has been my best friend each and every time I do any traveling. Ive never had any issues with inaccurate information nor any other issues using it on my 3G iPhone.
Simple and quick information was exactly what I needed and exactly what this app provides. Great app!
My go to for quick flight lookups. Worldwide data is a plus. And you can look up flights further in future than with some other apps.
Always tells me when a flight is delayed and where the baggage claim is in case I didnt listen to the flight attendants announcement (I never listen).
Some bad moments
Very disappointed. I expected better from SplashData. I had their other apps on my Palm Treo and they all worked well. I have their SplashID and SplashShopper for my iPhone and these 2 apps work very well. But their Flight Tracker for the iPhone needs some serious work. I just got back from a short vacation and planned on using the Flight Tracker for my flight and airport information. I got better and more accurate information by logging onto the usair site directly. No gate info and no baggage claim info.
This app almost caused me to miss meeting an exchange student yesterday at Newark Airport. It said her flight was coming in to Terminal B, and it actually came into Terminal A! That would NOT have been good, missing greeting a person whos never been to the US and who had no way of contacting me.
Do yourself a favor and dont waste money on this. I wish I would have bought more expensive app that actually gives you some useful information. This claims to give you only a few things and half the time it cant even find those. The amount of "N/A" in the app is pretty sad.
Does not provide any gate into for southwest airlines. Useless. I want my money back
Real does not update info quickly. Very poor. I wish I had not bought it.
On code share flights this app is less than useful. My experience had flights on the ground and deplaining with the app showing scheduled flight info only. In two cases, the flights were early to depart and arrive but the app didnt have the info until well after the flights were over. Perhaps it works with major carriers and non code-shares but I wouldnt trust it to deliver timely info.
